Thanks Chris for you comment. I didn't want to rant, but it's something I had been noticing. Glad to know I'm not the only one who sees this and recognizes our walk and talk need to match. :)

What a great article. I completely agree. Our walk must match our talk. I would love to "pin" this to my boards! Thank you.

This is great! I work at a Boys and Girls Club and find that the 3 connection rule tends to apply there as well. I introduce myself, get them patterned with a veteran member to take them around for the day, and find a club/program for them to join.

Thanks for sharing!

This is an important article. I've tried for seven years to crack the nut of two rival school groups who will not mix in our youth ministry. To me, a large part of the issue is that kids perceive church and youth group as something meant entirely to meet their needs. There is little concept that they bring something to the table and also are called to serve the body. I think part of the issue is helping the kids see serving God through reaching out to others in the group and building bridges as a part of growing in Christ. Part of meeting their deep need is feeding on Christ and serving him through reaching outside of their comfort zone.

[...] A couple of weeks ago, girlsminister.com experienced a hacker breaking into the site. Thankfully, I was in the site when the break-in occurred which allowed me to work with my IT guy, (also known as my husband) to regain control of my site. Thankfully when we got back into the site, we found that all of my content was still active. However, it had all been moved into the trash can. Most of my photos that accompany each article had been deleted, but we were able to save all the posts. Unfortunately, it has been a tedious clean-up job. I am thankful that we were able to save the site, but I wanted to inform you why some articles are missing pictures and appear broken. It was a weird feeling to have someone working behind the scenes to sabotage the site. It has been a reminder that in our ministry to girls and families, we are up against a much more dangerous hacker who regularly is setting up schemes and trying to hack his way into our everyday stories. So today, be on guard. When you least expect it—the deceiver shows up. Go to this article for ways that Satan tries to hack us and our ministry to girls and families: As for us, we’ll keep updating and renovating the site until it’s back to it’s ol...
